This Privacy Policy explains how SixBrain Tech (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the KisanGuru mobile app (Android package com.kisanguru.app, also on iOS) and the website at https://kisanguru.net (together, the “Services”).
By using KisanGuru you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
KisanGuru is a free agriculture companion for farmers in Gujarat, India. It offers crop calendars, AI crop-disease scanning, mandi prices, government scheme information, weather, directories (input shops, machinery, soil labs), and a farmer marketplace.

2. Information we collect
Account and profile
We collect your mobile number to send a one-time password (OTP) and create your account. We also store the name, language, village, taluka, district, pincode, and other profile details you enter, plus login tokens needed to keep you signed in.
Location
If you allow location permission, we use approximate or precise GPS coordinates to show nearby mandis, shops, machines, and local weather. If you decline, the app uses a default location or the place saved in your profile. You can change this later in device settings and in the app.
Camera, photos, and media
With your permission, camera and gallery access is used to scan crop leaves for disease detection and to add photos to marketplace listings, shops, and machinery. Images are resized and compressed on the device before upload. We do not use the camera in the background.
SMS (OTP)
On Android, with your consent, the app may read one incoming OTP SMS so the login code can be filled automatically. We do not store your SMS inbox.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send crop reminders, scheme deadlines, mandi price alerts, and service messages. You can turn notifications off in device settings.
Listings and directories
If you publish a marketplace listing, shop, or machine, we store the title, description, price, photos, and map pin you provide so other users can view them. Listings may be reviewed by our admin team.
Usage, device, and feedback
We may collect app version, device type (Android/iOS), language, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the Services. If you send feedback, we receive your message, rating, and the name or mobile linked to your account.
3. How we use information
We use this information to create and authenticate your account, provide app features, analyse crop images you submit, send OTPs and alerts you request, prevent abuse, comply with law, and improve the Services.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. AI processing
Disease-scan photos and related crop details may be sent to our AI provider (currently OpenAI) to identify likely diseases and suggest remedies. Results are informational only and can be wrong. They are not a substitute for a qualified agronomist, veterinary advice, or a laboratory test. Images and text you submit may be processed on servers outside India.
5. Third-party services
We use processors to run the Services, including SMS providers (OTP delivery), Firebase/Google (push notifications and related platform services), Google Maps, weather providers such as OpenWeatherMap, data.gov.in / AGMARKNET for mandi prices, OpenAI for image analysis, and hosting providers for kisanguru.net. They process data to provide their service to us, under their own terms and privacy policies.
6. When we share information
We share personal data with the processors above; when you publish a listing or directory profile (visible to other users); if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security; or with your consent.
Public mandi prices and government scheme content come from public sources and are not your personal data.
7. How long we keep data
We keep account and profile data while your account is active. OTP records are kept only briefly for verification and security. Scan history, listings, and similar content remain until you delete them or delete your account, unless we must retain them longer for legal, security, or dispute reasons. Backups may remain for a short period after deletion.
8. Your choices and rights
You may access and update your profile in the app; control camera, location, and notification permissions in device settings; delete content you added where the app allows it; and delete your account from Settings → Delete account. Deleting the account deactivates it and frees the mobile number for a new registration.
You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Email support@krushimitra.com with the subject “Delete my KisanGuru account”.
9. Security
We use measures such as HTTPS, hashed OTPs, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Children
KisanGuru is intended for adult farmers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
Some processors (for example AI and cloud providers) may store or process data outside India. By using the Services you understand that your information may be transferred to those countries, with safeguards as required by applicable law.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change, and material changes may be shown in the app or on the website. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
